I have both white and wheat (tan). I wear
the white ones as tennis shoes (as I find tennis shoes are
hard to find) and I wear the wheat ones as smart casual
shoes with brown and tan shorts and trousers. I've never had
a better feeling shoe than these (and I'm over 75).
Occasionally the shoe laces come untied spontaneously, but
in general the Marta's laces hold better than other styles
that I've had.
Although I've only worn this shoe a short while, I'm very
pleased with it. It felt "broken in" from the moment that I
put it on and it is a very comfortable fit. As I bought this
shoe for walking, I like the way it cushions the step, its
lightness, and its breathability. I also like my color
choice: a sort of cool greenish-white, perfect for hot
summer days. It's also a little more dressy looking than the
usual walking shoe.
I purchased them because running type shoes do not provide
the support I need for my feet. I have non-diabetic
neuropathy in both feet and have balance problems. I last
wore them when I was doing speed walking long before I had
these problems - decided to give them a try again for a
decidedly different purpose. They work well for both uses.
Couldn't be happier.
I have been buying them since 1983 (in fact, I still have
the initial pair, and they are still in good shape). The
last ones I bought (from Shoebuy) are still the same
excellent quality of shoe that I have come to expect from
them. The looks, feel, wear, and comfort are the best in the
land. Thank you They are maintaining your reputation for
many, many years.
It is best to be ordered a 1/2 size longer then what you
normally wear. If you normally wear a size 9, order size 9
1/2. I learned about this issue from past experience with
this model, so I did not have any problems with size this
time around. The shoe is narrow at the toe end so it is
necessary to make sure that there is enough room so the
large toe is not compressed against the inner side of the
shoe when walking.
